       THE CURSE OF TERRORISM

Terrorism means ‘to use terror-inspiring methods by terrorists to force a government or a community to make them agree to fulfill their demand.’  When a group of persons want to have an independent state, they attack the established government with arms and ammunition. Such persons are called terrorists. They disturb the peace of the state and the people. They kill innocent persons and peace-loving community and thus create terror in the hearts of people. Now-a-days terrorism has become a perennial problem for many countries of the world. India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Serbia, Uzbekistan etc., are some of the countries, that are suffering from this problem. There are some countries of the world that prepare terrorists. They give them training in arms and other necessary things for their training and living. Then they send them to their neighboring countries only to create trouble there.

     During the British rule, a group of young persons, inspired by patriotic feelings killed many English men, who oppressed our countrymen. These patriotic young men were called terrorists by the British government in India. But for Indians those patriotic youngmen were freedom-fighters. They are called martyrs and are remembered with great respect by the Indians. But the terrorism of today is quite different. It is against humanity. The terrorists of today are killing innocent persons for their selfish aim. Minor success of some evil persons in the achievements of their aims inspires others to follow it.

        In India, terrorism has prevailed in North-eastern states in Nagaland, Mizoram, Assam and Tripura. In Jammu and Kashmir and some times inPunjab, Pakistan has been creating a great trouble and terror. This country has been sending terrorists into our country for many years. It has been supporting them with arms and ammunitions, money and training. The aim of this country is to annex Jammu and Kashmir through creating terror in our country. Thousands of lives of peace-loving people are killed. So it is the duty of every government to crush terrorism with an iron hand. An international conference should be held to deal with this problem of terror under the sponsorship of the United Nations. Peace and prosperity can prevail if terrorism is ended..
